North Carolina’s Only Vapor Wake® Dog protecting the Devils

RALEIGH, NC (December 21, 2017)

Triangle-based, veteran-owned Stealth Vigilance K-9 (SVK9), a private K-9 detection firm, partners with Duke University Police Department and Duke Athletics to further enhance existing security protocols for the 2017-18 men’s football and basketball seasons.

Duke University recognizes the paramount importance of event security and SVK9 was on obvious choice with their highly trained canine teams. Stealth Vigilance was the first in the Triangle area to adopt Vapor Wake® technology, the only patented technology to detect body-worn explosives in transit. The NYPD Counter-Terrorism Unit, Chicago PD, LAPD, AMTRAK, Disneyland, Disneyworld, NFL, MLB, NBA, & NHL are a few of the organizations that currently utilize Vapor Wake® canines. The use of working dogs is a reliable and minimally invasive resource for detecting explosives and firearms while acting as a visible deterrent.

“Duke Athletics understands the unique and ever-present concerns for the safety of fans, players, and staff. They are being very proactive and using the latest security best practices, including the use of highly specialized K-9 teams, to augment their existing, robust security procedures,” said Kyle Breischaft, CEO of SVK9. “We are thrilled to be partnering with one of the most renowned universities in the United States.”

SVK9’s teams are deployed at Duke home Football and Men’s Basketball games.
